Ideally, kids constructed the animal and applied the paper mache in the first lesson and are ready to paint and add the finishing touches in this second lesson.
If some kids didn't get the paper mache applied in the first lesson, or if a student missed the first lesson, they can apply the paper mache in this lesson then use colored tissue paper as a top coat (instead of paint) while the paper mache is still wet.
