Crayons without paper wrapping
texture cards
different colored paper

Process:
2. Discuss texture - Ask if anyone knows what texture is -the way something feels (smooth, fluffy, rough...), also the way something looks like it would feel. Show the picture of the Girl holding the dog. Ask how the dog looks likeit would feel. Ask the kids if it really feels like that when they touch the
painting.
3. Explain lesson. Demonstrate rubbing process by placing a piece of colored paper over a texture card and using the side of the crayon. Show them how to fill up the paper with a variety of textures. They can use one or more crayon colors. Tell them they are making dragon skin.
4. Students can cut out shapes and glue them together on an extra piece of paper to create dragons. Don't forget eyes, nostrils, legs, spikes and flames.
